Son of multiple Bathurst class winner and racing legend, Don Holland, who celebrates his 75th birthday at this year’s Sydney Retro Speedfest, David Holland will be heading to the Sydney Retro Speedfest in his 1989 Reynard Formula Ford.
David Holland was a late starter to motor racing, commencing at the 2005 Phillip Island Classic, aged 38, in his father’s Historic 1983 Reynard Formula Ford.
David is still pedalling a Formula Ford, now a later 1989 Reynard, and is always up in the leading bunch! Father Don will be on hand as usual preparing the car and helping other competitors in the paddock, showing the true spirit of historic motor racing.
“Historic racing is motorsport as it was when Dad started, fabulous and interesting cars, but even better camaraderie. I always look forward to a race weekend, as driving a Formula Ford has to be the most fun you can have with clothes on,” Holland says. “I am also hoping for a great result to celebrate Dad’s 75th”
